First Baptist Carlsbad

Associate Pastor of Students & Singles Search

First Baptist Church Carlsbad is prayerfully seeking a Youth Pastor to lead and disciple the next generation. On this page, you'll find information about our church, our community, the position, and the application process.

Investing in the Next Generation

We believe the future of the church is not merely tomorrow—it is sitting in our classrooms, worship services, and small groups today. Students and young adults are not simply the next generation of church members; they are an essential part of the church right now.

At First Baptist Carlsbad, we are seeking a leader who shares our passion for reaching, discipling, and equipping students and singles to become devoted followers of Christ. We desire to see young people grow in their love for God, build meaningful relationships within the church, and discover how God can use them to impact the world around them.

The investment made in these years can influence families, churches, and communities for generations. That is why this ministry matters deeply to us.

Meet First Baptist Carlsbad

One of the things we treasure most about First Baptist Carlsbad is the diversity of our church family. God has brought together people from many cultures, backgrounds, and generations, creating a congregation that offers a glimpse of the heavenly picture in Revelation—people from every tribe, tongue, and nation worshiping Christ together.

Our church includes young families, students, young professionals, retirees, and everyone in between. We believe every generation has something valuable to contribute, and we intentionally seek to cultivate relationships that bridge age, culture, and life experience.

We are committed to being a church where people are known, loved, discipled, and equipped to serve. Whether someone has been here for decades or is walking through our doors for the first time, we desire for them to find a church family that points them to Jesus and helps them grow in their faith.

About Our Student Ministry

Our student ministry exists to help middle school and high school students know Christ, grow in their faith, and become lifelong disciples. We desire to create an environment where students are welcomed, challenged by God's Word, connected to caring leaders, and encouraged to live out their faith in everyday life.

Through weekly gatherings, discipleship opportunities, camps, mission experiences, and meaningful relationships, we seek to partner with parents in guiding students through some of the most formative years of their lives. We are looking for a leader who is passionate about helping students build a faith that is both personal and enduring.

About Our Young Adults Ministry

Our young adults ministry seeks to connect singles and young adults to Christ, biblical community, and the life of the local church. We recognize that these years are often filled with significant decisions regarding faith, relationships, careers, and future direction, making intentional discipleship especially important.

Our desire is to see young adults grow in their walk with Christ, develop meaningful relationships with one another, and discover how God can use them to serve His Kingdom. Rather than existing separately from the church, we encourage young adults to become active participants in the broader church family while building authentic community with others in a similar stage of life.

Family Life

Carlsbad is a community where families can put down roots, build meaningful relationships, and become involved in the life of the community. Excellent schools, youth activities, community events, and year-round outdoor recreation provide opportunities for families to grow and make lasting memories together.

At First Baptist Carlsbad, we value families and believe the local church should be a place where every generation is encouraged, supported, and discipled. Whether you are single, newly married, raising children, or entering a new season of life, we believe you can find a welcoming church family and a strong sense of community here.

Cost of Living

Compared to many areas of the country, Carlsbad offers a cost of living that remains competitive for families and ministry leaders. According to the Carlsbad Department of Development, the city's overall cost of living is below the national average, with savings often found in housing, utilities, transportation, and everyday expenses. Recent housing data shows average home values in the mid-$200,000 range, making homeownership attainable for many families.

While housing costs can fluctuate with the local economy, many residents find that Carlsbad provides an attractive balance of affordability, quality of life, and opportunity. For those considering a move, Carlsbad offers the benefits of a close-knit community without many of the expenses associated with larger metropolitan areas.
